PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is set to announce the composition of a “truly independent” commission that would look into alleged anomalous flood control projects.
“Within the next 48 hours, I will already announce the powers that we are granting to the independent commission and the members of the independent commission,” Marcos said during his roundtable discussion with the Philippine media delegation as he wrapped up his three-day state visit in Cambodia.

He gave assurances that the body would be free from any outside influence of groups or individuals with vested interests.
“We have made very sure that they are independent, truly independent. So, there will be no politician — just investigators and lawyers. It’s a technical exercise,” he said.
The independent commission will be given authority to effectively investigate and determine the non-existent and substandard flood control projects, and the individuals and groups responsible for misusing and pocketing public funds.
It would also be granted subpoena powers to summon individuals linked to the anomalous projects., This news data comes from:http://www.aichuwei.com
